Dixons Tax Free to open in Aberdeen Airport

BAA Aberdeen is delighted to announce that major retailer Dixons Tax Free
is to open in Aberdeen Airport’s newly-extended departures lounge.
Dixons Tax Free brings all passengers the opportunity to buy the latest
technology at tax free prices, no matter where they are flying to, from the
latest iPod to large flat panel TVs.
Prices are at least 15% below the high street price, and savings are often
even greater. Dixons Tax Free also offers all the services required to make
the most of tax free shopping, including home delivery and after-sales
support.
Work has started to fit out the new store as part of the £3 million
redevelopment of Aberdeen’s terminal building. The Dixons Tax Free store is
due to open for business in early May

The first phase of Aberdeen’s £3 million departures lounge development is
now open, with an additional departure gate, new seating, timber-style
flooring and new-look departure gates. The development now mixes
international and domestic passengers in one common area.
In November 2005, Aberdeen Airport submitted plans for a 300 metre
extension of the main runway. A decision on the runway application is
expected from Aberdeen City Council by summer.
